STTA TRAINING- Sustainable Tourism in Africa

Tourism for the future generations requires partnership and cooperation, with sustainable Travel and Tourism Agenda key players. TOSK undertook training for its members that will help them run for long in the Tourism Industry. Members got enlightened on the importance of practicing sustainable tourism.

Judy Kepher and TOSK thought of engaging Kenyan Tour Operators on the importance of practicing sustainable tourism. With proper policies and regulations, Tourism could grow responsibly impacting communities and locals. She gave us tips on how we should plan, arrange and advise our guests while on safari, on better practices to show.

Judy Gave us examples of countries that have been affected by increased and unregulated tourism practices. Countries such as Thailand, that receives more than 50 million visitors every year, closed their beaches due to pollution and the environmental negative impact it had. France as well receives 90 million-plus visitors every year, and they had to think about ways to control such an influx of guests.

our Tosk Members got tips and how they can practice proper tourism practices. Some courses were introduced to help members learn a few things that would help implement in their daily duties as they sell tours to their guests.
